I am usually pretty skeptical when it comes to drugstore lipsticks, but coveting NARS Schiap forever now, and not actually wanting to shell out for it, I came across a color that just may satiate that desire. Enter Covergirl's Spellbound, part of their Lip Perfection line.
The Lip Perfection formula is "Enriched with Silk Moisturizing Complex... formula helps sustain levels of moisture and helps create soft, smoother, beautiful lips in just 7 days."
I keep trying to type "Lovespell". Isn't that the new Taylor Swift perfume, or something?
I actually like the smell and taste thing has got going on. I can't quite put my finger on it, so please add it in the comments if you can tell what it is!
The formula is surprisingly moisturizing and application is smooth and even. The lipstick itself is super pigmented and easy to wear despite its bright nature. It is bold without looking outlandish.
I applied to my lips straight from the tube. No lipliner, and no lip brush.
I love, love, love, love the color. I have a feeling that this will have a permanent home in my bag this fall. I love the way a bright lip can really pop against the neutrals of the fall season.
After a couple hours I noticed that my lips felt a little cakey, but they still looked fabulous. Re-application with this lipstick isn't messy, either. It went right on top without looking weird or overly layered. Two thumbs up!
